The One Pre-Flight Habit That Makes Flying with Kids a Breeze

Airplane rides with kiddos can be tricky, but this simple habit is a game-changer. Plan enough time ahead of your flight so that your little ones have time to move around and get their wiggles out.

Getting some energy out and moving around BEFORE a flight can help everyone (even adults) be more comfortable sitting on a long flight.

This is especially important for babies that have been stuck in the stroller or carrier as you go through the process of checking in and clearing security. YOU may have been standing/walking for awhile, but they likely haven’t. 


Try one of these before your next flight: 

⭐️ Go back and forth on moving walkways (do it again and again and again). For bigger kids this can be an especially fun way to foster some independence if you let them go alone.

⭐️ If the airport you are in has an upstairs level, go up and down the escalators or go up and walk around looking down at the people below.

⭐️ If you are flying with a baby, get them out of the stroller and on to the floor so they can roll around, kick their legs, and stretch their arms. Use a Lay and Play Adventure Mat to keep them clean and off the actual airport floor.
